Carl F. Karow, Sr., the founder of Powers Lake Construction Co., Inc. was raised as a farmer's son in Powers Lake, Wisconsin during the early 1900's. As he grew older, Carl felt the desire to break from the farming life. With the support of key family members and his wife Patricia, Carl steered his career away from traditional farming. He began delivering loads of gravel in his horse drawn wagon when he wasn't farming with his family.

Carl realized the great potential of the motorized technology when it was introduced to the farming industry. With his entrepreneurial passion to increase his opportunities, he began investing in this new technology. This provided the foundation for Carl to perform custom farming services to the local community. A perpetual desire to deviate from the farming industry lead Carl to focus more attention to the construction opportunities in the local area.

The construction business began to flourish and incorporated the company under its current name, Powers Lake Construction Company, Incoprorated on March 26th, 1956. The main focus of the company during this time was residential grading, basement excavation, house raising and moving, and road building.

The company experienced moderate growth until the mid 1980's. Carl Sr. retired and passed the company down to his sons Carl Jr., Mark, Phil and his nephew, Doug. Powers Lake Construction Company, Inc. is now owned and operated under its second and third generation of management, including grandsons Jamie and Aaron. Since the 1980's, the company has grown exponentially. The new management's strategy is to focus more on customer satisfaction and expand the scope of our project mix.
